About Orlo
Built because we were
tired of snoozing.
Orlo started with one question: why does every alarm app make snoozing so easy? We set out to build the opposite — an alarm that removes the friction from getting up and replaces snooze with something that actually matters.
Our Mission
“To give every person a morning they're proud of — starting with the moment they open their eyes.”
The story
Like most people, our founder set multiple alarms. The phone was across the room — purpose-built as a "barrier" — and still ended up in their hand, alarm snoozed, scrolling social media at 6:47am.
The problem wasn't willpower. The problem was the app made snoozing easier than getting up. So we built Orlo — an alarm where getting up is the only option.
We looked at the science: Harvard research on small wins, sleep studies from Mass General Brigham, JAMA Psychiatry work on early rising. Every paper said the same thing — start your morning in motion, and your whole day shifts.
Orlo puts that science in your pocket. No extra device. No snooze. Just you, your mission, and your morning.
“Win the morning, win the day.”
— Tim Ferriss“Either you run the day or the day runs you.”
— Jim Rohn“The first hour of the morning is the rudder of the day.”
— Henry Ward BeecherWhat we stand for
Action over intention
Anyone can intend to wake up early. Orlo forces the action. We believe real change comes from doing, not planning.
Science-backed design
Every feature in Orlo is grounded in sleep science and behavioral psychology. We don't guess — we research.
Accessible to everyone
If you have a phone, you have Orlo. No extra hardware, no subscriptions to start, no barriers to getting better mornings.
Habits, not hacks
We're not selling you a morning shortcut. We're helping you build a genuine habit that sticks, one mission at a time.
